Our Story

I'm a dad to two young children and like most parents, my wife and I are completely committed to giving our children the best future we possibly can.

But my children are growing up in a generation that may one day look back in disbelief at how little action was taken to protect their future - despite all we know about climate change.

Sometimes I feel powerless to protect their future from climate change, but sometimes I have hope.

Every day we see companies and governments making decisions that prioritise short-term profit and convenience over long-term responsibility: misleading environmental claims, abandoned climate commitments, blocked legislation, regulatory loopholes, planned obsolescence, excessive packaging, high energy consumption, destructive farming practices, and industry-funded studies designed to delay action.

And this is where I become confused.

If 89% of people want stronger climate action, how are decisions that undermine it still being made?

Because behind every company, government, policy, and decision are simply people -  individuals choosing what action will or won’t be taken.

And if people have the power to create these problems, they also have the power to change them.

That's why I have created the Green Culture Index, an anonymous study into workplace culture that's specifically focused on uncovering what's really happening with sustainability.

The survey is one of the easiest ways to take climate action, and takes less than 2 minutes.

Each year, I'll share the results publicly.

Thanks,
Ian
